Documenting These Days at Home {Dayton, Oh Lifestyle Photographer}

2019-03-27_0021.jpg

Ive lost count of the number of days we’ve been “quarantined” or to be cute, under a “Safe at Home” ORDER. We’re going a little stir crazy, but Ive committed to taking out the big camera (and sometimes just my phone) and documenting these days at home with my kiddos.

I recently published a guide for our current clients to ‘Documenting Our Days’ at home with our families and we’ve had so much fun with it! We’ve been doing weekly photo challenges in the client group over on Facebook and on IG and everyone has really done an amazing job getting creative and capturing memories…which as a photographer….makes my heart so happy <3

Here’s a few tips for Capturing Quarantine Memories at Home…

  1. LIGHTING IS KEY. When taking daytime photos indoors, turn off overhead lights and/or lamps. Use only soft window light, making sure there are no harsh shadows coming in.

  2. ANGLES MATTER. You can isolate your subject and draw less attention to cluttered or crowded backgrounds by shooting from above or getting low.

  3. Don’t use flash.

Ive also had a BLAST using the app 1SE (one second everyday). It allows you to store 1-2 second clips from each day and turn it into a video! We’ve been busy taking walks, doing crafts and just hanging out as a family so having these quick clips from our days is going to be such a sweet gift to look back on when this crazy time is behind us! Def check it out <3
